What Is Your Deepest Default Understanding?
It is inevitable that each and everyone one of us will experience deep suffering in our lifetime.
It comes with the package.
That said, I often like to suggest the idea of exploring and examining your Deepest Default Understanding, which means to become aware of your deepest and most all encompassing and unshakable point of view.
Put more simply, what understanding do you possess that can stand up in the face of absolutely every and ALL situations you may encounter in your lifetime?
Some of these great understandings have become cliche's in today's popular culture, devoid of the power that is available when truly understood.
For example, I often hear young people of today exclaim enthusiastically, "Not a problem".
If the phrase, "Not a problem", is taken to its limits and its gifts are penetrated, you come away with the understanding that there is really no such thing as problems, except in the human, conceptual, mind made reality.
Put another way, any situation or experience can only be deemed a problem by a mind capable of turning it into a problem.
Rocks, fungus, grasshoppers, and fish do not experience problems. In fact, only human beings experience problems, and that is because we create them with our minds.
Now before you get all worked up, let me explain further.
In every single moment, everything is JUST as it is, BEFORE you think about it.
Every single moment, in its bare existence, is just as it IS before the mind can imagine, judge, think, wish, hope, compare or otherwise engage in PROBLEM MAKING thought.
Everything is, 'not a problem', because without the problem making mind, there are only situations and experiences to navigate as we see fit, as we are called to, and as life moves us.
When understood deeply in this way, the weak cliche, "not a problem", becomes like a Lighthouse of Truth on the stormy Ocean of Life, guiding us safely back to reality.
Another example?
"It's all good".
It's ALL good.
When plumbed deeply, this Deep Default Understanding points to the fact that everything, every experience, every situation, every event, every circumstance, and every moment, is utterly perfect, according to REALITY. No, not YOUR Reality, Reality beyond you.
Reality does not make mistakes. Life does not categorize as good/bad, only the human mind does.
"It's ALL good", means you are in alignment with Reality.
Some other Deep Default Understandings? I'm glad you asked.
"That's Life".
Is there anything that can fall outside the statement, "That's Life"?
NO!
Another one?
"It is what it is".
This Deep Default Understanding reduces everything to utter simplicity.
Is there anything that can fall outside the statement, "It is what it is"?
NO!
A final one? "Everything happens for a reason".
This one is mouthed by magical thinking new agers who like to believe that the sun still rises in the morning because they expect it to, so let me clarify the, "Everything happens for a reason", Deep Default Understanding.
Everything happens for a reason, should more accurately be stated as, "Everything happens as it does, because EVERYTHING is as it is".
This means that everything that happens, happens because everything made it happen. EVERYTHING!
To summarize these Deep Default Understandings:
Not a problem. There ARE no problems.
It's all good. Reality doesn't make mistakes.
That's Life. It's ALL Life.
It is what it is. Utter simplicity.
Everything happens because everything makes it happen. Everything.
Let me know if you have any others that belong on this list.
If you don't, NO BIG DEAL (another Deep Default Understanding)
SWACK!
If you enjoy the idea of Deep Default Understandings, my book Waking Up To Life! is written from the perspective that you ARE Life, imagining it is a 'me'.
