Seven months ago, I attended a seminar called "Waking Up To Life", as a part of a Professional Development day being put on by the school board I work for. I was expecting nothing - simply wanting to get through the day as I was required to do. I had chosen this seminar because it sounded a little more interesting than the dozen other options we had to choose from. I had no idea that in the next hour and a half, my life would be changed completely.

The woman who walked into that theatre was shy, friendly, happy and pretty sure of herself. She had hopes and fears, joys and sorrows, challenges and worries, desires, memories, likes and dislikes, and beliefs about life and her role in it. She had, she thought, single-handedly conquered a painful past and she had worked hard to create a comfortable, peaceful, secure and happy corner in the world for herself. She was relatively content and in control of her life. She was seeking nothing.

The woman who walked out was shaken to the core. She had no idea who she was or who held the controls. Everything she had ever known or believed about herself was in question and she was at the beginning of the most amazing journey she would ever take. That woman (me, of course) was about to learn, with Aaron McNaught's help, to BE, to Live AS Life, and to experience Love in a way she never had before. She would face truths about herself that she had only glimpsed in rare moments, and she would come to know what IS, and always had been, and what always will be.

The journey I embarked on that day could possibly be taken alone (I don't think I could have done it alone - maybe others can). I think that, alone, it would be a slow and difficult journey. With Aaron's guidance, though, the process of 'Waking Up' was accelerated, rich and full of depths that I might have missed on my own. It would take pages to tell everything Aaron has given me and how it has affected me, so I will give just the highlights.

- First, Aaron Introduced several concepts that caused a questioning about what is real - beginning with his seminar.

- Then, he directly taught the simple skill of 'paying attention' and the more complex skill of 'Living Alive AS Life." Aaron is extremely generous with his time and willing to share what he knows. He has an unshakeable confidence and passion about what he teaches and an understanding for the process that made me want more and more.

- He subtly guided more deeply, encouraging me to look from different angles, through new perspectives - essentially, to look through different eyes. This gentle guidance was profound and exposed the illusions I had always believed in, including the illusion of "me".

- He supported and encouraged me as the illusions began to fall away and Life was revealed. This is, in a way, the hardest part of the journey, as the spirit takes bursts of flight, only to be sent crashing down by the doubts, fears and habitual beliefs of the old 'me'.

- He shared all through the process, in many, many ways, as the understanding deepened. Recently, I have had supreme moments of acceptance and KNOWING, without a doubt, who I truly am and where the control lies. There is a freedom in this, a joy very different from 'created happiness', a Love more complete and connecting and powerful than anything I've ever experienced before. To learn the source of ourselves is to learn to BE, complete and perfect, and in this Knowing, the earthly body/mind becomes more precious too. The fears become less powerful, the faults kind of amusing, and the strengths that much stronger. The perfect 'I AM' and the little 'me' become one and the same, and it's all so much more than I could ever have imagined when I first started out.

- Aaron sometimes led me by the hand, and sometimes gave a playful shove. Sometimes he whispered, and other times he shouted, or even delivered a surprisingly harsh wake up call. He seems to have an instinct for what is needed, or what I can handle, at any given time. With a word, he can change my whole way of seeing things. He has a gift for clarity and precision that makes his guidance extremely effective.

Aaron's ongoing support through this has been extremely helpful. Essential, actually. Layers were stripped away, forcing me to go past the 'created', false surface, down into the hidden darkness's and fears, then past all of that to the True Source, to where I Am Life - simple, clean, faultless and beautiful. For me, this is in direct opposition to what I inwardly always believed of myself and outwardly hid from the world. Going beyond the habitual, world-based 'me' has been nothing short of a beautiful miracle.

I strongly recommend, for those of you with a sense that there is something more to Life than what you're living, that there is a lack of authenticity in your present experience, and a curiosity to look deeper, that you talk with Aaron and see where it takes you. It is a journey that isn't a journey in the end. You go no farther than what is already there and always was there. Aaron just helps you see it.
